Who are we? We are a small and dedicated team of qualified teachers, using our skill and experience in state schools to help children who need some extra help in learning to read and spell. We teach children in groups of no more than four, so that they can all have some individual help in each lesson. Each lesson lasts for one hour. Children have one lesson a week, and may have a small amount of homework to do between lessons. We use a maximum ratio of one teacher to four children.

When are the lessons held and what do they cost? On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings after school, and Saturday morning. Parents may stay if they wish. We provide tea/coffee and the papers! Lessons cost £16.50 to £20.00 per hour, depending on the size of the teaching group We ask parents to pay in advance for four classes at a time. We also offer an assessment before classes start, at a cost of £20.00, so that we can discuss with you what sort of help your child might need. This cost is fully refunded when your child starts classes.

Results It is our policy to track each child for progress after eight weeks. After eight weeks of teaching, our children make average gains in reading age of around 13 months and spelling age of 5.5 months.
