Since the hotel's purchase in November 2002 Claremont Wines director, Bharat Dave, has personally supervised the renovations and massive refurbishment this landmark hotel so urgently required.

This includes the restoration of the impressive lobby with its five elegant chandeliers (already a talking point with guests), the Bistro bar, and the 29 en-suite bedrooms that have been redecorated in soothing shades.

This has been followed by a major refit of both kitchens and redecoration of the Conservatory restaurant, which will be opening in June and featuring a modern European menu with wines to match.

This is in addition to Bistro FortySix which will be open to residents and non residents alike for informal dining and where it is possible to order anything from a cup of coffee to a full three course meal and all manner of options in between.

The hotel is using the roomy ex-nightclub facilities for private functions and will also cater for weddings, conferences and trade shows and exhibitions.
